Where laptops meet liftoff.

Laptopware runs the unglamorous machinery behind good companies — the helpdesk that answers, the pipeline that ships, the claim that gets paid. One team for managed IT, DevOps & cloud, and medical billing.

01 What Laptopware is

A technology company that also happens to be very good at getting doctors paid.

Most businesses end up with three vendors who don't talk to each other: someone for laptops and passwords, someone for servers and deployments, and — if they're in healthcare — someone offshore handling claims. Nobody owns the seam between them, and the seam is where things break.

Laptopware is built as one shop. The same organization that images your fleet also writes your Terraform, and the same organization that writes your Terraform sits two desks from the coders scrubbing your claims. When a rejection turns out to be a broken EHR integration, it takes one conversation to fix, not three vendor tickets and a month.

We're deliberately unfashionable about it. No transformation decks, no maturity models. We take ownership of a boring, load-bearing part of your operation and make it stop being a problem you think about.

02 Services

Everything technical, and the money side of healthcare.

Six practices. Hire one, or hand us the whole stack.

01

Managed IT & Helpdesk

Your people stop losing mornings to broken things. We run the fleet end to end — procurement, imaging, MDM, patching, identity, and a helpdesk that picks up.

  • L1–L3 support, SLA-backed
  • Device lifecycle & zero-touch onboarding
  • Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace admin
  • Networking, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls
  • Backup & disaster recovery, tested quarterly
02

DevOps & Cloud Engineering

Shipping should be a non-event. We build the pipeline, codify the infrastructure, and put real observability behind it so a 2 a.m. page has an answer attached.

  • CI/CD on GitHub Actions, GitLab, Argo
  • Kubernetes, ECS, serverless
  • Terraform & Pulumi infrastructure as code
  • Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry
  • FinOps: right-sizing and commitment planning
03

Medical Billing & RCM

A full revenue cycle team, run like an engineering function. We measure the first-pass rate, chase every denial, and tell you which payer is quietly costing you money.

  • Eligibility, charge entry, CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Claim scrubbing & electronic submission
  • Denial management, appeals, A/R follow-up
  • Patient statements & payment posting
  • Provider credentialing & payer enrollment
Most requested
04

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Controls that survive an audit and a bad Tuesday. We harden what you have, then keep the evidence trail so certification isn't a fire drill.

  • HIPAA safeguards & risk assessments
  • SOC 2 readiness and evidence automation
  • MDR, EDR rollout, phishing simulation
  • Penetration tests & remediation sprints
  • Incident response runbooks
05

Custom Software & Integrations

Internal tools, portals, and the connective tissue between systems that were never designed to speak — including the healthcare ones.

  • Web apps in React, Next.js, Node, Python
  • HL7 v2, FHIR, X12 837/835 interfaces
  • EHR / PM / clearinghouse integration
  • API design, legacy replatforming
  • Mobile and internal admin tooling
06

Data & Automation

Reporting people actually open. We consolidate the sources, model the numbers once, and automate the manual steps nobody admits are still manual.

  • Warehouses on BigQuery, Snowflake, Postgres
  • ELT pipelines & dbt modelling
  • Operational and RCM dashboards
  • Workflow & document automation
  • Practical LLM assistants on your own data

03 How we work

Four steps, no theatre.

The same sequence whether you're handing us a cluster or a claims backlog.

  1. Step 01 · Week 1

    Discovery

A working session, not a sales call. We inventory what exists, sit with the people who use it, and find where the time and money are actually leaking.

You get: a written findings memo.
  2. Step 02 · Week 2

    Blueprint

Scope, sequence, price, and the metric we'll be judged on. Fixed, in writing, before anyone touches production or PHI.

You get: scope, SLA and a start date.
  3. Step 03 · Weeks 3–6

    Build & transition

We run in parallel with whatever you have today until the numbers match. Nothing gets cut over on a promise — billing transitions run a full parallel cycle.

You get: cutover with a rollback path.
  4. Step 04 · Ongoing

    Operate & report

Named engineers and a named billing lead — not a queue. A monthly review with the numbers that matter and the ones that got worse.

You get: monthly scorecard, quarterly roadmap.

04 Revenue cycle

Clean claims are a data problem. We treat them like one.

Most billing companies work the queue. We work the cause. Every denial gets a reason code, every reason code gets counted, and the top three become engineering tickets — a validation rule, a template fix, a corrected payer mapping — so the same claim never fails twice.

You keep your EHR. You keep your clearinghouse. You get a team that reads the 835s properly and a dashboard where you can see days in A/R move week by week.

  • BAA signed before any PHI moves
  • Certified coders (CPC / CCS) on every specialty
  • Denials worked within 48 hours, no ageing bucket
  • Priced on net collections — we win when you do
First-pass acceptance 0 industry median sits near 85%
Days in A/R 0 down from 47 at typical onboarding
Denial overturn rate 0 on appealed claims, trailing 6 months
Collections lift 0 average in the first two quarters

05 Why teams switch

Four things our clients say we do differently.

One accountable party

When the EHR integration breaks the claim, there's no vendor triangle. Same company, same Slack channel, fixed the same day.

Named humans

You know your engineer's name and your billing lead's name. Escalation is a phone call, not a portal with a ticket number.

Documentation you own

Runbooks, diagrams, Terraform, payer matrices — all in your repo. If you ever leave, you leave with everything.

Numbers, monthly

Uptime, ticket SLA, deploy frequency, clean-claim rate, days in A/R. Reported whether or not the month went well.

06 Questions

The things people ask on the first call.

What does Laptopware actually do?

Three practices under one roof: managed IT and end-user support, DevOps and cloud engineering, and medical billing with full revenue cycle management. Cybersecurity, custom software and data automation sit alongside them for the same clients.

Why does an IT company do medical billing?

Because modern billing is an engineering problem. Clean claims depend on clean data, working EHR-to-clearinghouse integrations, and automation that catches errors before submission. Our billing team sits next to our engineers, so a rejection pattern becomes a fixed workflow instead of a permanent rework queue.

Are you HIPAA compliant?

Yes. We sign a Business Associate Agreement before any PHI is exchanged, work inside access-controlled and audit-logged environments, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and run role-based least-privilege access with annual workforce training.

How do you charge?

Managed IT is per-seat monthly. Engineering work is either fixed-scope project pricing or a monthly retainer for a dedicated pod. Medical billing is a percentage of monthly net collections — no collections, no fee.

How quickly can you start?

Discovery call within two business days. Most IT and DevOps engagements are scoped in a week and onboarded within two. Billing transitions run three to four weeks, including credentialing checks and a parallel-run validation cycle.

Do you work with our existing tools?

Almost always. AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub and GitLab, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and the major EHR and practice management platforms. We would rather make your stack work than sell you a migration you didn't ask for.

Tell us what's broken.

Send the messy version — half-migrated cluster, a helpdesk nobody staffs, six months of unworked denials. You'll get a real reply from a real engineer, usually the same day.
